I don't wear a lot of face makeup - I only ever wear foundation if I'm going on a night out. On a day to day basis my staples are mascara, concealer, and filled in brows (on fleek - of course!)
My Mum and Nan have warned me from a young age how important it is to moisturise your skin every day - but being the little diva that I was, I never listened. Teens always know best, right?! Wrong. I can't pinpoint a specific moment or age, but I started to notice some teensy tiny lines appearing around my eyes, and I panicked a little.

I decided that Mum and Nan were worth listening to - my Nan's face hasn't got a crinkle in sight at the sprightly age of 73, so she's obviously been doing something right! I started to use face cream, and instead of just smearing my makeup off with a face wipe at the end of the night, I began caring about how to look after my skin. I bought cleansers, toners, face wash, exfoliating scrubs, face masks, day and night creams... Throughout my last years of high school and sixth form, into uni, and onward, I tried every lotion and potion you could imagine!
Some were too heavy, some were too sticky, some too expensive, too perfumed, too oily, took too long to dry, too rich, etc... After trialing mounds of products, I've found one simple brand that I love - Simple. (See what I did there?)
Their face cream is light, non sticky, contains SPF 15, and it dries quickly, so it's perfect to slap on in the morning before applying makeup. I also use the cleanser, toner, eye makeup remover, and face wash. Don't get me wrong, I'm not religiously cleaning my face and I don't follow a strict daily routine in the slightest! Some nights I do forget, or I'm too tired to bother with cleansing and toning and I just fall into bed - but I do try to use the moisturiser every day.
Their website states:
"All Simple® products have no dyes, artificial perfumes or harsh irritants that can upset skin and contain skin-loving ingredients and added vitamins for natural, healthy-looking skin. Simple® products are hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic and pH balanced."
